Alocasia Regulina (Black Velvet & Jewel Alocasia) - Plant

Alocasia Reginula also known as Black Velvet or Jewel Alocasia is a relatively small Alocasia with big, lush, almost black leaves and contrasting, silver veins. The leaves of Alocasia Reginula look velvet-like but are a little rough to touch. This Alocasia grows only up to 30-40cm tall. Its small stature and exotic foliage make it an excellent foreground focal piece.

People love this beautiful houseplant because its dark, velvety leaves have bright silver lines that stand out. This plant, Alocasia Black Velvet, grows slowly and has a unique appearance. It gives any home plant collection a touch of exotic elegance.

Botanical Name: Alocasia Reginula

Common Name: Black Velvet/Jewel Alocasia

Why Should You Buy Black Velvet (Alocasia Reginula)?
• Lush Foliage: The leaves are dark green to black and have a velvety sheen. The silver lines on the leaves stand out.
• Compact Beauty: Great for small rooms, tables, or terrariums.
• Conversation starter: The way it's colored makes it stand out in any room.

Common Names: • Alocasia Black Velvet • Alocasia Reginula • Dwarf Alocasia (because it grows more slowly)

Easy to Start With
• Low Water Needs: Let the top inch of soil dry out between waterings; too much water can cause rot.
• Small and Easy to Handle: It doesn't take up too much room, which makes it easier to keep up.

Natural Looks Inside
• Bold Accent Plant: Its dramatic, velvety leaves make it stand out. • Improves Aesthetics: It looks great in simple or modern settings.

Use Anywhere
• Indoors and terrariums: Does best in damp places with bright, indirect light.
• Desks and shelves: It's easy to put in different places because it grows slowly and isn't too big.
• Plant Groupings: It looks beautiful with plants that have lighter or brighter leaves.

Tips
1. Bright, indirect light: Stay out of direct sunlight to keep leaves from getting burned.
2. Water in a moderate way. The dirt should be slightly wet but not soaked.
3. Keep the humidity high: mist the leaves often or put the plant near a fan; Alocasia Black Velvet likes it when the humidity is high.
4. Keep the temperature between 18°C and 27°C (65°F and 80°F), and keep it away from drafts and quick temperature changes.
5. Feeding Every Once in a While: Use a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser to keep the leaves healthy during the growing season.
