Azalea is a common name for a group of flowering plants in the family Ericaceae. Azalea plants are evergreen or deciduous shrubs, and can grow to a height of 3-6 feet. 

They have glossy, dark green leaves, and produce clusters of flowers in the spring and summer. Azalea plants prefer acidic, well-draining soil and partial shade, and are often grown in gardens or as ornamental plants. They are also used in traditional medicine, and are sometimes eaten as a vegetable. Azaleas are closely related to rhododendrons, and the two plants are often confused. However, azaleas tend to be smaller and have smaller, more delicate flowers than rhododendrons.
