Radermachera Plant - Lush China Doll Tree for Indoor Decor

Radermachera sinica, commonly known as the China Doll plant, serpent tree, or emerald tree, is an evergreen species in the Bignoniaceae family. It is native to the subtropical mountainous regions of southern China and Taiwan, and is widely cultivated both as an ornamental houseplant and as a garden tree in suitable climates. The Radermachera's fine-textured foliage provides a beautiful contrast to larger-leaved houseplants, making it perfect for creating dynamic plant displays. Easy to maintain with the right care, this ornamental beauty brings a touch of refined elegance and tranquility to your living space while purifying the indoor air.

Care and Tips

  • Light: Place in bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch leaves. Some morning sun is beneficial, especially during winter months in northern India.
  • Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Reduce watering in winter. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot, especially during monsoon season.
  • Soil & Fertilizer: Use well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter. Feed with balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during growing season (March-October).
  • Maintenance: Prune occasionally to maintain compact shape. Remove any yellowing leaves promptly. Increase humidity by misting or using a pebble tray, particularly in dry regions of India. Repot every 2 years in spring.
