Zamia Palm (Zamia Furfuracea) - Hardy Cardboard Palm for Indoor & Outdoor

Zz plant and Zamia Palm are two unique indoor plant varieties. The zz plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) is an easy-care succulent with glossy green leaves. It thrives in low light and infrequent watering, making it perfect for homes and offices. The Zamia Palm (Zamia furfuracea) is not a true palm but a cycad with feather-like foliage. Native to Mexico and the Caribbean, it adds an exotic, tropical touch indoors. Both the zz plant and Zamia Palm are low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plants ideal for those seeking attractive, long-lasting greenery indoors.

Care and Tips

Light & Location: Place your Zamia Palm in bright indirect light or morning sun. It tolerates indoor environments well but thrives when given some outdoor time in filtered sunlight. Avoid harsh afternoon sunlight which may scorch the leaves, especially during Indian summers.

Watering: Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. During monsoon season, ensure proper drainage to prevent root rot. In winter, reduce watering frequency to once every 2-3 weeks.

Soil & Fertilizer: Plant in well-draining soil mixed with sand or perlite. Feed with balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength once every 3 months during the growing season (March-September).

Maintenance: Remove any yellowing fronds at the base. Dust leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to keep them looking fresh and allow proper photosynthesis. Repot every 2-3 years or when roots become visible through drainage holes.
